Military Learners Now connects active and reserve duty military members and their dependents with online programs offered through accredited schools that have a Department of Defense Voluntary Education Partnership Memoranda of Understanding (DoD VEP MOU) on file and have joined the Military Learners Now Compact. Through this MOU, active and reserve duty members and their dependents may take classes that are paid for by the Department of Defense.
If you are ready to start or continue your education and earn a degree (certificates coming soon), simply connect with advisor to help you determine which classes you will need to earn your degree. He/she will also help determine how much credit you might receive for prior learning or experience, making your path to earning a degree much faster. (Prior learning or work experience may be utilized for up to 75% of degree requirements.)
You take one class at a time during the five-week learning periods (semesters) and mini-mesters in late December over the holidays and summer. The online classes are flexible so you may take the classes around your schedule no matter where you are stationed. As long as you have internet access, you are good to go.
The Department of Defense (DoD) pays your tuition directly to the Compact institution up to 100% (max. $750 per 3-credit course) with little to no book costs. Ask your advisor about financial aid options, should that be needed.
If duty calls? Should your work schedule require putting your education on hold temporarily, just let us know and we will “pause” your program while you continue to serve. Since classes are online, there is no need to withdraw from one school and apply to another if you and your family are relocated.
